Three minors risk missing their KCPE Exams after being charged on several charges of robbery with violence in Kayole.
The
candidates were charged along another 23 year old man who was accused
of being a notorious facilitator of crimes in the same area.
Before the court read aloud the four different charges they were
warned that the crime holds a heavy penalty punishable to life
imprisonment.
They were accused of robbing valuables and cash
worth sh 30,000 from residents in the wee hours of the night dating 29th
September and 1st October of this year.
They allegedley used dangerous weapons used to threaten and
intimidate their victims. During and after the act they conducted
violent attacks on their victims causing them minor assaults.
All
suspects represented themselves before a Makadara court and denied the
charges . Only one of the candidates parents was present pleading for
the court to release their child and consider the need to prepare for
KCPE .
However, Principal Magistrate Rose Otieno ordered a childs officer
to confirm the actual status of the minors before their release from
being in the minors custody . The magistrate made it clear to the court
that a report is to be established on whether the other minors have
guardians and the identity of their schools.
The case will be heared on January next year.
