MAN DENIES ATTEMPTS TO BURN MOTHERS HOUSE


A man remains in custody for attempting to burn down his mothers house and threatening to stab his brother from a heated family squabble within Eastlands.

Francis Maina told a court that he was under constant pressure and felt victimized by his family.

He denied the charges and told the court that he was being charged in court inorder for his family to split property unfairly.

He was accused of for attempting to burn down his mothers house at kiamaiko village in Huruma. On 24th September he found his belongings kicked out of the house and reacted violently .

The court heared that the house was bought by the deceased father but Maina resides in the squatters and his elder brother resides in the main house .

He allegedley threatened to stab his bother with a knife after they were fighting for the bigger share of rental houses.He was charged with creating disturbance in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.

Maina who represented himself was unable to pay a sh 30,000 cash bail . If found guilty he risks facing upto 20 years imprisonment.

 His case will be heared on 21st december this year.
