TEEN 'DEFILER' TO BE FREED AFTER MEDICAL TESTS

A man will remain a few more days in custody accused of cohabiting with a minor for six days during the festive season.

The man is alleged to have sexually assaulted a 17 year old girl at his home in huruma between christmas and new years eve.

The minor is a form two child at St. Anne's Secondary school. In her statement she claims to have known the man for five years now.

The girl went to the suspects house after he pleaded for her to visit . However, she was unable to leave the house when he locked her between 25 th and 31st of December last year.

Her mother traced her  steps and reached the suspects his father who accessed his house.

The minor  was treated under Medicins Sans Frontiers at Mathare Eastleigh Project.Medications of ARVs and STIs were placed on record with heavy counselling yet to take place.


Moments after the suspect appeared before a Makadara court  yesterday , he denied two counts of defilement and indecent touching.


Although investigation documents identify the suspects age to be that of 18 years, his lawyer warned the court that his client was still a minor of 17 years.

Yesterday, Prosecution applied for the suspect to remain in police custody until his medical tests were verified by the Police doctor.

Senior Resident Magistrate Esther Nyongesa granted a bond of sh 400,000 with an alternative sh 200,000 cash bail. 


But the bail will be possible after medical tests are complete. The case will be mentioned today.
