DRUG 'PEDDLER' MAMA TRAPPED

A 28 year old mother of a one baby boy was charged for possessing marijuana valued at over sh 40,000.

Lucy Murugi stood before at the dock in a Makadara court holding her one year old baby.
 
She was arrested on 2 nd January at Gikomba market while wrapping the bhang into cigarete rolls. She confessed to the court that she was guilty of the offence but defended herself saying  it was her means of livelihood.

Yesterday, she told the court her arrest was unfortunate as she was trapped by the man who assigned her to wrap the rolls for sale.

She alarmed the court when she stated the same man betrayed her after she failed to comply to his personal interests.
 
She was accused of containing seven kilograms of the charge was false and was only arrested with 3 kilograms which was not in medicinal preparation.

It has been observed within central business district that mothers use their babies to  peddle drugs. Many have wrapped drugs around their nappies and inside their clothes.

Senior Resident Magistrate Esther Nyongesa entered a plea of not guilty after listening to her defence. 

The magistrate  granted her a cash bail of sh 30,000. 

The case will be heared year on this  April 8th .
