STUDENT SAYS, COURT A DESTRUCTION TO STUDIES

A University student withdrew a case of various mobile phones valued at sh 30,000 that were stolen from him.

The 23 year old man told a Makadara court he desired the case to be put off, since he intended to fully concentrate in his studies.

He was distressed about the rigorous court processes and  the attention his presence required to proceed with the case and applied for withdrawal.

Two suspects pleaded not guilty to theft charges linking them to the crime of breaking into a building such as a workshop on December 11th last year.

Jackson Kivutha, 29 and David Maina, 18  both denied stealing 10 phones, a modem and a hot air machine at a workshop in Huruma where the complainant served as a shopkeeper.

They were unable to raise a cash bail of sh 20,000 each and remaind in custody since their plea on December 13th.

The case was withdrawn  yesterday after four weeks of its initial proceed before the Makadara court and one hearing date.

Senior resident Magistrate Esther Nyongesa allowed the application and acquitted under section 202 of the  of the Cpc Act.
