OFFICERS DEATH IN FATAL ROAD ACCIDENT

An enquiry into the fatal death of a police constable has been issued before a Makadara court over a fatal road accident.
The enquiry has cited that the minibus driver of Forward travelers escaped from the scene along jogoo road in fear of mob justice.

The deceased Stephen Mwangi Kariuki passed on after a fatal road accident in the morning of 14th December  just a few meters from the Footbridge of the same courts.

The deceased  who is a constable at the Kilimani station was crossing the road with his 10 year old son from the courts at about half past 9 am.

Fortunately the boy sustained serious injuries unlike his father who passed on the way to Kenyatta National Hospital with blood oozing from the nose, head and chest . His body was rushed to Chiromo mortuary by officers who arrived an hour later at the scene.

John Njeru Njeru,30 , was charged for causing death by dangerous driving in minibus registration number KBM  928B F, in  contrary to section 26 of the traffic act.

He was accused of driving the matatu at high speed exceeding the required 50 km/ph range that was heading to Kayole from town.

Investigations claim that he disappeared without considering to take the deceased to hospital and mainly ignored the nature of traffic along the same road at the speed rate of the bus.

The case will be heared on January 28th in the year 2013.
