CON 'EMPLOYER' IN DOCK FOR IMPERSONATION

A 26 year old man has been charged for impersonating a public officer and pretending to recruit for the General service unit.

Joshua Ngumu denied two counts of imeprsonation and obtaining sh 35,000 by false pretence.

Ngumu allegedlely convinvinced Margret Mwikali that he would help recruit the son who had low grades in school into the Kenya  police service.

Initially he had intended to obtain sh 100,000 for the same task, but mangaged to receive sh 35,000 in instalments of diverse dates.

Between 8th and 30th November this year, he jointly received the money at Huruma estate within Nairobi.

After several instances of being promised to receive the employment letter from the force, they realized they were conned and reported to police.He was put in custody at Muthaiga station on 26th December .

RM Alice Macharia granted him a cash bail of sh 10,000. The case will be heard on March 14th next year.
